Team Recognitions
Pictured here is most of the gang with some hard-earned trophies:
A 2nd Place Qualitative Trophy among all of the schools (which means we earned the second highest average number of points per student).
A 1st Place Spirit Trophy among all of the schools!
Other highlights include:
7th place individual trophy for Level 1 student S.G.
2nd place in Level 4 impromptu oratory by M.B. and J.V.H.
Our scrapbook won 2nd place.
Our new GMCHE banner won 2nd place in the models category of the art competition.
GMCHE Door Art
Not a prize-winning door, but a well-scoring door nevertheless, which helped us achieve our 1st place spirit trophy among the small schools.
Scorpion Ballista
Our entry in the war machines contest. If you look carefully, you can see the projectile in the upper right hand corner of the picture. Unfortunately this one didn't place in the contest, but it was very impressive.
One More Costume!
The portrayal by A.S. of Pan as turned temporarily into half goat/half fish won 2nd place in the boys' costume contest.
Costumes!
This group includes most of our costume entries - namely two Niobes (who came in 1st and 3rd in the girls' costume contest) and Paris and Helen (aiming in the artistic direction of Greek pottery) who came in 2nd in the couples' costume contest.
Constellation Masks
For the Constellation-themed spirit event, all of the students dressed up as animal constellations by use of appropriate masks or head gear. Here you see the bull and the dog.
Award-Winning Painting by J.V.H.
This painting of a scene from Hadrian's Villa tied for 1st place in the art competition (painting category) at the 2010 WJCL Convention. It earned a perfect score of 50 points.
